W-Five to feature story on Theresa Allore Tragedy

SHERBROOKE – Canada’s longest running newsmagazine, W-Five, will present a special hour-long program on Theresa Allore, the 19-year-old student who was murdered in Quebec’s Eastern Townships over 26 years ago.
The show will profile the struggle the young girl’s family faced in convincing Quebec authorities that Theresa was murdered. It features extensive interviews with original investigators, Theresa’s friends, family members, and personnel from the school she attended, Champlain College. Also featured are first-time interviews with Theresa’s mother and father, her parents have not spoken publicly about the event since Theresa’s body was found in the spring of 1979.
W-Five traveled to Austin, Texas to interview Criminal Profiler, Dr. Kim Rossmo. The Behavioral Scientist was the first to suggest that Theresa’s case may have been linked to two other deaths in the Eastern Townships at that time - the death of Manon Dube who died in January of 1978, and the brutal murder of Louise Camirand whose body was found in Memphremegog in March of 1977.
Commenting on the show, Theresa’s younger brother, John Allore states, “it gives the family one more opportunity to present the facts in this case, perhaps some good will come of it and someone will come forward with new information.”
The story of Theresa Allore drew national headlines in the summer of 2002 when John Allore – along with then National Post writer, Patricia Pearson - presented Dr. Rossmo’s findings, pressuring investigators to overturn their initial conclusion that Theresa had died of a drug overdose. The case remains unsolved and is currently being investigated by the Surete du Quebec.
Mr. Allore lives in the United States, but remains involved in victims issues in Canada. He sits on the board of the Canadian Association for Victim Assistance (CAVA), and works with Quebec’s Association des Familles de Personnes Assassinées ou Disparues (AFPAD). He currently is pursuing a Masters Degree in Justice Administration at North Carolina State University.
W-FIVE airs on CTV on Saturday, March 12th at 7:00 pm. It will be rebroadcast on Sunday afternoon, March 13th at 1:00 pm.
