The Demon Barber of Hillsborough Road
Irony of Ironies, my favorite holiday is Halloween.
Can you guess who I'm going as?
I'll give you a hint: that's stage blood and straight razors on the table.

DO YOU KNOW HOW I GOT THESE SCARS?

I'd like to see how you compare with Johnny Depp at playing this character.
So where are you planning on celebrating Halloween?
It's my favorite holiday too. Just ask any of my friends!
If I offended anyone, I'm sorry. But I would ask people to separate a a fascination with the theatrical macabre from the reality of murder.
Sweeney is a fictional character, and I find it fitting and appropriate to "exorcise the demon" by poking fun at its menace. Ghost stories can't hurt you. Real horror stems from something more threatening and mundane.
And Theresa loved Halloween, so I choose to honor it by inhabiting the boogeyman. That's my way.

Why So Serious?
That's what Halloween is all about, Charlie Brown.
It's a time to face your fears, your inner demons, while making fun of them, which makes them easier to face and more fun. That's why we have goofy ghosts and silly skeletons. We mix the frightening with the funny, and we do it on purpose.
Now I'm having trouble understanding why I'm explaining this. Was someone really offended?
