MONTREAL – Provincial police are still looking for a bright-yellow helicopter that was stolen in broad daylight Friday in Sorel-Tracy, about an hour’s drive northeast of Montreal.

Witnesses told provincial police they saw the helicopter taking off at about 3:15 p.m. Friday, said Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Sgt. Gregory Gomez.

The helicopter is privately owned and was sitting outside on private property on Route Marie Victorin, Gomez said. He could not say how the thief managed to start the engine.
